The story of S&R Sport began over three decades ago. In 1992, brothers Steve and Rob Granick recognized a growing need in the aquatic sports world. More athletes were diving in than ever before, but the quality of products and service wasn’t keeping up.
Determined to change that, they built a company they could truly stand behind. After flipping a coin to decide whose initial would come first, S&R Sport was born.
In 2007, the business became even more of a true family endeavor when Steve and Rob’s sister, Lori, joined the company. A former practicing CPA, Lori brought not only financial expertise, but a deep sense of care and commitment that only family can. She also grew into leading our marketing efforts, helping shape the voice, vision, and connection S&R Sport has built within the water polo community.
In 2008, Rob, an entrepreneur at heart, set out to pursue new ventures and build other companies. While he stepped away from the day-to-day operations, his influence never left. He remains a trusted voice behind the scenes, continuing to support and guide the business he helped create.
Since founding S&R Sport, Steve has helped lead the company with a hands-on approach rooted in authenticity and relationships. A former UCLA water polo player, his connection to the sport remains as strong today as ever, as he continues to play three times a week more than three decades after his college career. Known for building lasting relationships throughout the water polo world, Steve’s passion for the sport and the people within it has been central to the company’s growth and reputation.
Today, S&R Sport is run by Steve and Lori, working side by side as both family and partners. Together, they carry forward the same passion, values, and hands-on approach that started it all, staying deeply connected to the athletes, teams, and community that have always been at the heart of everything we do.
Our relationship with Delfina is a story of shared growth and belief in what water polo gear could become. We began working together in 2009, when Delfina was just entering the water polo space. In those early years, Delfina produced suits under our private label, allowing us to bring high-quality products to our customers while the brand was still finding its footing.
As Delfina continued to invest in innovation, refine its production, and expand its presence globally, it became clear that something special was taking shape. By 2018, after significant advancements in quality, fit, and performance, we made the decision to transition fully to the Delfina brand, aligning ourselves with a name that was quickly becoming one of the most respected in water polo worldwide.
