TYR swim suits are tested to last 300+ hours. Now, this doesn’t mean that as soon as you’ve used it for that amount of time, you have to throw it out. It just means the suit should last at least that long. With proper care, they can last even longer. Simply being careful can be enough, such as avoiding rough surfaces when climbing in and out of the pool, washing it according to the instructions, and hanging it to dry.
Swimsuit fabrics are typically polyester, spandex, and nylon. If you’re shopping as a competitive swimmer, look for suits, such as the TYR swim suits, that use more polyester, as it’s chlorine-resistant and will last longer.
