Swim parkas need to cover the majority of a swimmer’s muscles, particularly the ones used in a race. Make sure your swim team has parkas that fall around the knee and cover the whole arm length. Since body shapes and heights can vary, consider our customizable swim parkas to ensure each parka is tailored to the swimmer it’s intended for and can best serve its purpose!
Yes and no. It’s really up to each swimmer what they want to use to cover up. But in most cases, swim parkas are the most all-encompassing option. They’re just one piece and can cover the entire body. Most swimmers compete in multiple races during a meet, meaning they are in and out of pools all day and walking around an aquatic center that can be chilly. This causes the body temperature to fluctuate, which can lead to muscle tension. A parka keeps the entire body covered and warm.
Swimmers put on parkas before a race to keep the muscles warm and loose. Races are determined by milliseconds, so any advantage makes a world of difference in the water; benefits such as muscles that are already warmed up. When muscles are loose, the swimmer has better control over their movements. So after a warm-up swim, make sure you and your team are throwing on a parka to keep those muscles at the ideal temperature.
